....…"We would particularly ask you to read paragraphs 3 and 4, page 2, which gives an explanation of the freezing points of anti-freeze; also page 27 where you will find a graph giving the degrees of frost protection according to the percentage used and you will note that in the case of the 1938 Bentley, which has 24 pins in the radiator, see page 20, that we give three alternative frost protections – 1st column, 10% by volume, maximum protection 15° of frost, middle column 15% by volume, maximum protection 25° of frost, end column 20% by volume, maximum protection 35° of frost.

Our normal recommendation for conditions in this country is 25° of frost (middle column) therefore, in the case of the Bentley you would require a No.1A + No.1 the total cost to the customer being 17/6d. equivalent to 3½ pints of Bluecol".
