Leaflet O-V.{VIENNA} 98 (April, 1928.) Osram Valves Extra High Tension Rectifying Valve. TYPE E.H.T.2. Type E.H.T.2 is a 2-electrode thermionic valve, specially designed to withstand high voltages. The valve will withstand a maximum peak reverse pressure of 40,000 volts, or a capacity load of about 20,000 volts. The maximum anode current that may be taken from the filament is 10 milliamps R.M.S., and a protective resistance should be included in series with the anode circuit. On cable testing the protective resistance should be about 1 megohm. It is recommended that the high voltage be applied to the anode, in easy stages. The E.H.T. Rectifier No. 2 is designed primarily for insulation and cable testing purposes, but may be employed to replace mechanical rectifiers in cases when the rectification of high voltages is desired. Its absence of moving parts; small bulk; ready replaceability and low maintenance costs are some of its advantages, which recommend it for this purpose. Approx.
