Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/MH.{M. Huckerby} 2nd. November, 1939. O.W.Tweedie, Esq., Rooms 5 and 6, Grand Hotel, HARROGATE. Dear Tweedie, With reference to your query regarding the Brown Boveri exhaust turbo units, I have discussed the matter with the personnel running the units and they state that they have very little interest in further tests because the units really have not come up to expectations. The only interest in running the two units which have not yet been delivered is the fact that a modification has been made to air-cool a portion of the rotor blades, but that if the Ministry decide to shut the job up they would not mind in the least. The two blowers on order would, of course, have to be paid for. It would therefore seem that if you want to fold up the experiment no-one here will object, and you can then release the Kestrel engine which had been allocated for the experiment. Yours sincerely, | ||
