Have used a few alum rivets. & to date have'nt come to any harm. !! Propose to continue. R seems happy about it. J 'Wide straps no effect at hand. Daimler ride. Brake also does more on N. We cannot help until we change drums. Have driven 5 & NA{Mr Nadin} many hundreds of miles lately at a v.{VIENNA} high speed, considerable use of brakes - 9 in v pleasant with it. Conversion of Std cars on trial. can be done in a few hrs with a vice (pail not needed). At price stated. & D's sheet this after 10 miles i.d. which not a figure to be proud of & a more reasonable as current instance. Problem in getting forgings - 4 weeks delivery - pressure of war work. If must Looked on that current brake work is for use in testing only. (27-10-14) CJ Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mer (tc) Ref Mr Williamson's chassis extract from letter of 7-11-14. 'I'm perfectly satisfied with the brakes on my car & cannot say how these would seem well to me now. I've not tried one 1 yr latest chassis fitted with all brakes on India R'side wheels but would rather fancy. This may induce skidding under certain conditions. I think the latest method is a great improvement constructionally as it relieves the transmission parts of the braking wear & tear.' Mr Williamson's car will of course be fitted with the v latest type of DRB containing all the recent mods & improvements. (13-11-14) | ||
