RECEIVED 4 APR 1928 R.{Sir Henry Royce} B.H. hor. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5010 BY1/G.2.4.28. 20 HP. CHASSIS - CRANKSHAFT. Realising the importance of introducing the improvement for the oval web construction, after going very carefully into the matter I was satisfied that it could only be advantageous to introduce the oval web. I therefore put this through as an ordinary alteration, and both the 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. chassis at the moment are going on test with the improved oval web. In addition to the question of strength, there is a distinct gain from the point of view of handling the parts in the works, as the grinding of the web is facilitated enormously by the new construction.
