GRY{Shadwell Grylls} We should try this on our piston scuffing test Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}
Messrs Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY,
England.
Dear Sirs,
Attention of Mr. S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls.
With reference to our recent discussion we are sending you under separate cover a one-gallon can of MOBILOIL "A" (specially treated) which we understand you require for testing in a gearbox. This oil contains a corrosion inhibitor which increases the film strength of the oil, and we shall be interested in learning the results of your tests.
As a matter of interest we are importing a quantity of oil of this type, which is for test in Diesel Engines, mainly in connection with prevention of piston ring sticking at high M.E.P's, so that if you require a quantity for testing in Motor Car engines during the running-in period, we will be in a position to supply.
Yours faithfully,
VACUUM OIL COMPANY LIMITED.
