HYDRAULIC SHOCK DAMPERS. x235 x5520 From the result of tests we have recently carried out we recommend the following modifications to the hydraulic shock dampers on the front of both the 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. cars. Spring F.74689 to be fitted to the glands. This gives a pressure of 20lbs. instead of 15 lbs. at present used. Spring F.75168 with its free length reduced by .010" to be fitted to the low pressure ends of the shock dampers giving a load of 70 lbs. ± 5 lbs. We have decided to alter the low pressure loading after extensive suspension tests. We consider that these modifications are of sufficient importance to warrant their being brought in at the earliest possible moment, even if it means scrapping a number of springs.
