Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c.c. Ry. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7791 EFC4/AD23.1.30. X.7791. 40/50 HP. MAGNETOS TYPE E.W.6. There is no question of the use of large irridio platinum points on these machines. Although we have run one machine experimentally with these, with specially good results, we have also so far got very good results with tungsten points, and we are going forward towards standardisation of these. We are not however, yet in a position to make these standard as we have so far not been able to get any appreciable amount of running on experimental cars. This matter we are pushing as far as possible. Experimental running on cars is particularly important in this connection - we must thoroughly satisfy the condition in actual use of good slow running and ease of starting. An EW6. magneto with tungsten points will be run on the forthcoming 10,000 mile test. EFC. | ||
