Handwritten: 1153 also -1260 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ua. UNIVERSAL GEARBOX. Further to our conversation with you, owing to the decision to do no major alterations on the P.III, the policy with regard to the Universal Gearbox is likely to be revised. We should, therefore, be glad if you would not make any more gearboxes than are necessary to ensure that B.III cars are not held up. At the present moment there is no other gearbox which will go on B.III, and, therefore, we shall have to make enough to run our B.III cars. At the moment, we suggest you go forward with boxes only. We hope to clarify the position with regard to transmissions at an early date. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
