X5250 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY9/N.19.12.31. X5250. X5260. X5500. Re: Radiator, Bonnet and Dash - J.3. Chassis. Referring to your memo Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/17.12.31, we have no Arrangement Drawing made shewing the radiator as fitted to 20-G-IV. but we have produced an outline drawing shewing the radiator, and the bonnet in accordance with N.Sch.3381. In regard to the question of a loose shell radiator with oval shutters, and your remarks as to whether it is still thought desirable to go to this, we consider the best way to arrive at a decision is for you to send us a design shewing your proposals, and then we could go fully into the matter to see if it would be more economical to produce than the present staybrite radiator. In regard to the staybrite radiators, the Works appear to have got over most of their troubles with these, and they are satisfactory. We send you herewith blueprint of Sch.1477 shewing the oval shutters, and the one we propose is shewn in Figure 3. These parts are produced from sheet, rolled into a welded tube and formed into shape. RECEIVED 1931 DEC 21 S BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
