c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} c. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. De/TD 1021. CONFIDENTIAL. 25th. February 1939. BY.1/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Messrs. Park Ward & Co. Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, LONDON. N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re: Bonnets - B.5, B.50 and Silver Wraith. As a result of the decision to ask you to supply the bonnet side and top plates, to build up and fit the bonnets of Bentley 5 on production, we feel it would be a good experience for you to/build up and fit the bonnets for the remaining experimental/cars, which you have in hand, i.e. 10-B-5, 11-B-5, 12-B-5, 3-B-50 and 30-G-7. We have already supplied you with bonnets for some of these cars, which need to be completed and fitted, and in due course we will supply those for the remaining chassis. Until production starts on any of these types of chassis we will supply the side and top plates. Because these will of necessity be made by hand or with very temporary tools we appreciate that a certain amount of handwork will have to be done to them. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
