EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/AD9.12.29 contd. -2- switch electrically on the side of the switchbox switch remote from the magneto and nearer to earth (in so far as the three "on" positions of the switchbox are concerned) instead of its present electrical position which is remote from earth and nearer to the magneto. The two arrangements are diagrammatically electrically indicated in Figure 1. and Figure 2. on sheet attached in which the magneto switch is indicated as at present with its knob and casing uninsulated. It has been assumed in these diagrams that the knob and casing are always in contact with the contact of the switch to which they are first "on" and last "off" though actually they may not be connected thereto when the switch is fully "off". Will Ry. please consider the matter with a view to deciding whether it is more expedient to alter the auxiliary magneto switch or that we should put the matter up to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town for an alteration to the design of the magneto switching in the switchbox. We have tried the amount of the shock and although personally we do not consider it very much, we are now rather inclined to agree with Ap's view that it is most desirable to eliminate it in all circumstances.
