The stiffness appears to go off during a night's rest, or immediately fresh lubrication is put into the box. Have you not found any means for preventing the lubrication getting away from the nut etc., in the steering box? Handwritten Response: Ny. Mr Northey's report is entirely in agreement with what we have found to occur & the nut & worm as mentioned by Mr Northey is the minor part of the trouble — lubrication of the pivots in all cases cures the stiffness, but this is not always the case when having lubricated the worm only.
