1029 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1//JH. 29th. December, 1938. Automotive Products Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Ball or Mr. Parnell. Dear Sirs, You recently sent us six 1¼" dia. integral tank type master cylinders with four bolt fixing. The master cylinder is driven from the servo. The linkage from servo to master cylinder is too complicated at present and we are re-designing it, but in the new layout an integral tank type cylinder is impossible. Is it possible to supply a 1¼" dia. master cylinder with four bolt fixing for clamping to the side of the gearbox (with suitable heat insulation) but without an integral tank? This fits into our layout best. We should be much obliged if you would send an answer by return of post because the design is going forward and we need the information to complete it. If we have to use the three bolt end fixing type, then we shall have to use a bracket which will not be so rigid Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
