Oy. informs me that in almost every case where cars are sent to America, the thrust piece has been destroyed by drying up, the effect of course being caused by the crushing set up when the water works into the grain of the wood. This causes it to more or less crush, and when it dries out it is much too small. I think in view of the above it is desirable that we should try a metal thrust, and I would propose a brass piece carrying a magnolium metal facing dovetailed in as a button.
