To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} COPY. X5250. Re. Overheating. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/E15.10.30. X. 766. X. 7250. X. 5250. Thanks for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/ADL4.10.30. I am very much interested to learn of the improvement in efficiency which can be gained by adding merely indentations to the tubes. The samples of the plain tube and the indented tube have come to hand and one can hardly believe that such a small difference in the tubes would produce any substantial benefit. I quite agree to the principle of making up a radiator so that a test can be made with a view to overcoming a customer's complaint. It seems to me, however, that it would be better to deal with it on a complaint case at home rather than one in Italy because owing to the long distance away it makes it more difficult to obtain reliable information in regard to results. If you agree that this would serve the purpose equally well, I will get H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} who, as you know deals with complaints, to find an amiable owner who has been suffering from overheating, on whom we can conduct this experiment. You do not give any indication as to the percentage of improvement which this modification is likely to produce and, if you have any data on this subject I should like to have it. Sg.{Arthur F.
