X1114 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KW. 11th March, 1936. Chayne, Esq., Assistant Chief Engineer, The Buick Motor Co., Flint, Michigan, U.S.A. Dear Mr. Chayne, We have heard various rumours that the Viscon type of Oil Cooler which you fitted to the Buick prior to the introduction of the series 40, is likely to give trouble in service. We understand that what happens is that the small inner passages of the tubular core get slummed up and that in consequence no oil passes it. We should be very much obliged if you would let us know if this is so, as we are contemplating using a similar device on one of our cars. Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
