HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL 10,000 MILE CARS. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M26.4.30. X7940. X5840. No doubt we shall get reports as to the progress of the two 10,000 mile cars now running, but I should like to say that we are particularly interested in some parts, and should welcome information passed on to us as quickly as possible. For instance, the centralised lubrication carried to the two axles, especially what happens to the pipe carried along the spring blade, also as to whether the axles get an adequate supply of oil. We are also interested in the larger pump which we understand is being fitted to one or both of the cars in France. The radiator suspension is another one, and the hinged filler cap for the petrol tank. We are also, as you know, very much interested in the results of tests now going on on the hypoid gears, and should welcome any information you can send us as to results. .125 .150 _275 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
