Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your enquiry of the 8th inst. regarding small 6 cyl. magnetos, and beg to say that we could supply our G.type magneto for 6 cyl. cars, and the dimensions of this magneto correspond in so far as the fixing positions are concerned with the Bosch ZF 6. magneto.
The other dimensions as you will see from the blue print enclosed are practically identical with those of Bosch ZF.6. We are not at present making a 6 cyl. magneto of this size, but we are making the corresponding 4 cyl. models and could supply 6 cyl. machines within 4 weeks of receipt of your order. The magneto described is not however a sleeve type magneto, and as in the corresponding Bosch machine the range of advance is 20° only, the sleeve type magneto would necessarily be appreciably wider, and we could not make a narrower sleeve type machine than our model E.O.6. samples of which you have already had for test, and approved. We could if necessary supply this model with a base in which the fixing positions would correspond with those of our G.type and with the height of centre of the armature spindle reduced to 38 m/m instead of 45 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} If however there is room on your engine for the 45 m/m height of centre, you would find the magneto model E.O.6. without modification more satisfactory than one with the height of centre of the armature reduced to 38 m/m, as in the latter case the length of the screw holes in the base is very much reduced.

We could make up a sleeve type magneto with 38 m/m centre in about 4 weeks from receipt of your order, this time being necessary on account of the fact that it will be necessary to make special end plate as well as to modify various other parts.

We shall be pleased to hear further from you after you have considered the question as to which of the models described you consider would be the most suitable for your engine.

Yours faithfully,

(SD) NORTH & SONS LTD.
