We have duly examined the above machine of which the complaint was that the solder had melted at the commutator connections. The fact that the control brush has the early setting of 120º for the larger output as compared with 122º, appears to have been sufficient cause for the machine just reaching this condition. The armature itself, apart from the connections to the commutator, does not appear to be damaged, though the field coils have been rather over-baked by the heating, and probably should be replaced. The machine is herewith returned to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. | ||
