Elec. 6000 COPY FOR FILE. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}9/ML.12.3.40. CHAMPION PLUGS. Mr. Irving, the Champion technical representative, visited these Works on 4.3.40. to discuss plug troubles. In answer to my request he brought with him 1 doz. L10. type plugs for trial. These are slightly hotter and should counteract to some extent the effects of poor fuel. The Champion experts will give their opinion on the effects of oxydation of the electrodes, and also, in what way the plug may be improved to provide better propagation. Mr. Irving also promised to send me some recently published technical data on ceramics. He knew nothing with regard to oxidised electrodes causing misfiring; in his opinion this was due to dirty insulators. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} | ||
