ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: M Barrington Order No. Customer's No.: X1156 It is possible to test two axles simultaneously by a slight modification of the present rig. One end would "overrun" while the other ran forward consequently the out put would not be increased. [Diagram annotations] Left side: idler, universal joint, gear of 9/10 teeth Middle: clutch, existing bearings etc, axle near door. Right side: idler wheel, Gears of N teeth This axle bodily raised & reversed. The supplementary gears would be suitably mounted on a base remote from the nearest axle to prevent confusion of sound. The axles are probably distant enough from each other for distinction. The small gear reverses the condition end for end. Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work.
