81031. W.A. Robotham Esq., Exptl. Dept., Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Yardley Villa, Arnol Hill Rd., Daybrook, Nottingham. 10th. Nov., 1932. Your Ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/AD. Dear Sir, With reference to your letter of yesterday regarding my disability. It strikes me as significant that Mr. Maddocks should not have advised you previously in this matter; andidly I doubt very much if it ever entered his head. As you know I have previously worked for four years in the factory, and during this time my hardest job was to build up the confidence of others in my ability. However, I have no wish to be accepted for this post on my own recommendation, and I can only suggest that there are Departmental Managers in the works who can tell you all you wish to know. For my part, I am keen to come providing the phrase "I dont think Buckle could manage that" be wiped off the slate! I've heard it too often. Very many thanks for writing so promptly in this matter - it saved what might have been a very nasty "jamb". Yours faithfully, RHSBuckle R.H.S. Buckle. | ||
