Dear Sirs, We thank you for yours of the 3rd (Ref:Expl.Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gyl/J) and are pleased to note that the rates of the meter valves which we have been supplying are satisfactory. With regard to supplying meter valves of intermediate rates between 0 and 1, we could do this by making special meter valves with a slightly larger hole than the No.0, and the same pin; and also some between No.1 and No.2, giving the .2 c.c. per minute. If you would let us know what quantities you require we will put these in hand as a special order. In reply to your question, our production difficulties have been overcome but the percentage of rejects to obtain the accuracy you require is, of course, larger than with our standard system where the meter valve is not pressed into a steel housing. The writer will be in Derby next week, if possible on Wednesday, and would like to discuss with Mr.Gaye one or two points in connection with the central lubrication system, if this will be convenient to you.
