To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Aluminium Brake Drums.
Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}BY.RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
In view of all that has been said at recent meetings at Derby relative to the above, I was very much interested to read the report dated the 25th on 6-B-IV which states that there was bad squealing from the brakes followed by the liner coming loose in the aluminium brake drum.
The latter is of course the very thing we feared, and something which would be most damning to our reputation if it happened in the hands of a customer.
