SECRET. +304 DORP W/S. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/HP.4.1.35. Sedanca Body for SpectreCodename for Phantom III 33-EX. We send you herewith a print of:- LeC.4286 showing twomproposed designs for a Sedanca de Ville on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis 33-EX. The interior dimensions in both cases are identical with the latest Barker Sedanca on the Phantom. We are not certain which type of back to the body will be preferred. In design No.1. we have the luggage boot at the back similar to that of the Continental touring saloon. The Sedanca body being only a few inches short of maximum length the addition of this boot at the back makes the body very long. In design No.2. is shown a back similar to that used on the latest enclosed limousine. The luggage is carried partly on the body and partly on the hinged flap. This design shares with the limousine the disadvantage that the luggage is never enclosed, but it has the advantage that it saves considerable weight in the body and shortens the body at the same time. For these reasons we are inclined to prefer design No.2. provided that it is considered a practical and acceptable design. ATT. LeC.4286. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
