BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} H400 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M22.10.27. PHANTOM REAR WHEEL CARRIER. X.8600 X.8400 With reference to the question of supplying the rear wheel carrier as standard, and doing so when no luggage grid is required, R.{Sir Henry Royce} has instructed us to make a wheel carrier which can be fitted in the place of the present combined wheel carrier and luggage grid without altering the side pressings. N.sch.2487 (herewith) shews what is intended. The centre plate is the existing one, but slightly shortened at the top. The forgings to which it is bolted are the existing forgings. The side standards are of course new. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
