1379. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 19th July, 1939. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Dugdale, Esq., "The Autocar", Dorset House, Stamford Street, LONDON. S.E.1. Dear Dugdale, We took a standing quarter mile acceleration after you had gone yesterday, and got a figure of 18.25 seconds. The car was in exactly the same condition as when it covered 10 miles at 115 m.p.h. Considering that it was geared for this high speed, I think the acceleration figures are reasonably good. I am looking forward to seeing you up here in September, I hope it will be the first week in September because after that I shall be away. Yours sincerely, P.S. By the way I should hate the 'Autocar' to promote me accidently. My official title at the Factory is 'Development Engineer'. | ||
