Handwritten notes: R STILL NIGGLED ABOUT SHODDY ELECTRICS ON 6 EX. STATES *9(L) ORIGINAL EFC FOR NOT PERSONALLY INSPECTING & CRITICISING IT (AS R WOULD UNDOUBTEDLY HAVE DONE). R NOW GIVES EFC COMPLETE & WATERTIGHT DESIGNS & DIAGRAMS TO ELIMINATE RECURRENCE OF MISUNDERSTANDING. To EFC. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} " " BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.39236 X.3659 RE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT AND 6 EX. I am in receipt of your memo with reference to the above. I am not so much concerned in the fact that the errors on 6 EX. had been done in the shops as the fact that the car came to me without anybody finding them out. I should certainly have considered that in a case like this you should have inspected the electrical installation and criticised it, using a pilot lamp, voltmeter or galvanometer, to find out what circuits were alive. You will realise that now we have sent you complete designs and diagrams there should be no possibility of any misunderstanding. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
