I consider that the motor lorry was proceeding down Crocker Hill at an excessive speed considering that the vision was obscured by the smoke and was not as close to its proper side of the road as it could have been. The road was sufficiently wide for it to pass us as it did actually pass us after it had backed off the front of our car. Our car was not moved during this operation and there was sufficient road on our right for traffic to pass easily.

The actual time of the accident was 10.45 a.m.

The witnesses were:-

Mr.J.Silvester,
North End,
Dronford,
Nr.Bishops Waltham.

who did not see the accident but saw position of car and lorry immediately after.

Mr.P.Grace,
Chalk Pit,
Crocker Hill,
Labourer in field by the fire.

Driver of Motor-Lorry :-

Mr.A.E.Brown,
Cheriton,
Alresford.

Mr.Pinnock,
Keysbury Farm,
Wickham.
