the wood thickness can be increased by the amount of the thickness of these plates, which is .05".

They further say -

"It is impossible for us to increase the width of the sheet metal battery boxes we are providing owing to the close proximity of the torque tubes on one side, and the brake ropes on the other."

They further suggest that in view of the uncertainty of the temporary scheme, we should obtain as soon as possible these batteries made up in moulded Dagenite containers, and I think you will be hearing from our Mr. Henry Royce in this connection.

On inspecting these batteries in position on the chassis, it seems to me to be going to be a hopeless job to expect a customer to go through all the procedure necessary to enable the forward six-volt unit to be topped up. We shall probably write to Mr. Royce to this effect.
