x3531. Lp.{Mr Lappin} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to WoR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}2/KT. 6.10.32. --- Ford V.8 Cyl. Many thanks for your Lp.{Mr Lappin}2/LAM.3.10.32. with performance figures of the Ford. These are most interesting. We think that there is no doubt this car will set a new standard of performance in England. It is of course clear to you, as well as us, that Ford has achieved his results, not by any technical excellence in design, but by having the courage to disregard the HP. tax, and putting a big engine into a small car. If we followed his example, and at present we don't know any other way of getting the same performance peacefully, the engine in the 25 HP. would be 5 litres capacity. It will be interesting to see whether the performance of the car will sell it, against the running expenses, which are bound to be high. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
