----------------

(1) There were no meetings held on either the 24th. or 25th, owing to the staff having a holiday, neither was there a meeting on the 26th. owing to Messrs Bailey, Hives and Whitehead being away on business connected with the firm.
Mr.Wormald was unable to be present at the meeting today owing to having to attend a local conference of Employers' Federation and Trade Union Officials.

(2) RE MANUFACTURE OF AMERICAN CHASSIS - CJ4/E20.5.20.

The above letter was read to the meeting. The opinion of the meeting was as follows:-

(1) An American equivalent was not considered to be a right method of dealing with it, as we have not found any equivalents for the items likely to be included.

(2) It is proposed that in place of stocking American equivalents they should stock English parts, and instead of getting as high as 500 sets it should be fixed by a time basis, as no strike is likely to last more than six months, and that in consequence no more than a six months' stock should be kept in America, ahead of requirements.
