Bentley Car 11 B I Unit B80 No 3L + Lagonda file We have carried out our performance and petrol consumption tests on 11 B I car with a Duplex Stromberg carb fitted, and alternatively 3 S.U. carbs. With regard to performances, we could not pick any difference in acceleration times from 10 - 80 MPH with either system of carburetters, but using 4 B 60 as a datum car, we were able to establish that the performances of the Stromberg and the 3 S.U.'s were identical from 10 - 60 MPH, but from 60 - 85 MPH, the 3 S.U.'s were better by 2 to 3 car lengths, and as far as we could judge on the road progressively so up to 100 MPH. The actual timed figures obtained were:- 10 - 20 MPH = 3.1 SECS. 10 - 30 " = 6.1 " 10 - 40 " = 9.1 " 10 - 50 " = 12.7 " 10 - 60 " = 16.5 " 10 - 70 " = 20.2 " 10 - 80 " = 25.4 " | ||
