IMPREGNATION OF PAPER WITH SEEKAY WAX.
Rolls Royce Limited.

Following a request by Messrs. Rolls Royce for specimens of paper impregnated with Seekay Wax, this has been done with grade R.123 Seekay Wax at temperatures of 140, 145 and 150°C. Specimens of the impregnated paper accompany this report.

The following table gives the details of the amount of wax involved in the impregnation treatment. The sample rolls submitted show some contraction effects, which render the unrolling of the paper not altogether easy in some cases.

| Temp. of Impregnation °C | Wt. of 3 yd. length of paper | Impregnant/ 3 yd length g | % increase in wt of paper on impregnation | Length impregnated/ lb. wax consumed |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | Untreated g.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} | Impregnated g | | | |
| 140 | 4.25 | 27.80 | 23.55 | 553% | 58 yd |
| 145 | 4.25 | 26.40 | 22.15 | 521 | 61 |
| 150 | 4.25 | 25.50 | 21.25 | 500 | 64 |
