37-EX. for BROOKLANDS TESTS.

We are putting 37-EX. car into the shop on Monday for preparation for Brooklands cooling tests.

The following is the work which we wish you to carry out on this car.

(1) Remove the radiator and ensure that the five radiator matrix units which we wish to test (and which we will hand you) can all be interchanged in the yoke without difficulty.

(2) Build up three Ph.III. fans less the blade sets using -
(a) The twin belt pulleys which we will hand you.
(b) The triple belt scheme which you have removed from 34.EX. (Kenya)
(c) The single belt scheme fitted to 35-EX.
(d) Balance the new Cadillac type five blade set on all three hubs, so that we can interchange them.

(3) Ensure that the three driving pulleys for the above fans can all be fitted with the radiator in position.

(4) Fit up fan ring as instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.22/AP.6.3.37. and ensure that it clears satisfactorily with any of the three fans in position.

(5) Refit radiator with the standard Mk.Vl.{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} matrix unit and 37-EX. own fan pulley set.

(6) Make two deflecting strips which can be fitted onto radiator yoke sides to direct air stream passing matrix (with unit instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.10/AP.21.5.37.) towards the centre of the engine.

(7) Fit Negretti & Zambra thermometers (which we will hand you) to (a) top water connections both sides.
(b) Bottom water radiator outlet.
(c) Behind fan.
(d) At petrol pumps.
