Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} HP. WL. - from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/W30/11/22. I give below copy of memo I have received from Mr. Claude Johnson. Will you please see to it that this instruction is carried out. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} COPY. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from CJ. CJ7/P29/11/22. Springfield resent letters being sent by Derby to ex-Derby officials at Springfield addressed to their private addresses. Apparently there is no such thing as secrecy in America and, if Mr.A. at Derby addresses a letter to Mr.B. at Springfield, within a week the 500 employees at Springfield know, not only that such a letter has been so addressed but the contents of it. The administration at Springfield are naturally very touchy about communications from Derby being sent to ex-Derby officials at their private addresses and consider that, if there is anything to be said, it should be said through the administration. I think we have got to support this policy. Please warn EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and other officials who may have spared some of their staff to go to Springfield that they must avoid this cause of friction.
