Cricklewood Works,
London, N.W.2.

Attention of Mr. C.W. Nicholls.

Dear Sirs,

"Jackalls" on 5-B-IV.

With reference to the above, this car has been standing for some while in our fitting shop and has to-day been handed over for test.

One of the first things we did was to try the Jacking system which functioned satisfactorily the first time.

We then released the Jacks and repeated the operation, but when we came to release them once again, we could not turn the control arm to the release position, though it would move easily to either of the other positions. However, as the car was urgently needed we had to release the pipe unions on the box and so let the oil run out.

It would appear that the release valve has in some manner become fast and we should like to have your views on the matter before we dismantle same.

Will you please forward to us 1 tin of Jackall fluid, an official order for which we will have sent to you.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
