Clutches.

There is now the thermoid lining for recurrent cases of clutch jaggers, but a number are being made satisfactory to the owner by attention to the clutch spline on the first motion shaft. Cricklewood are being supplied with a cast iron lapping broach to facilitate this work. The splines are being smeared with Duckham's Keenol K.G20, and this should keep the rust from forming, and maintain lubrication.

Exhaust System.

There are many complaints of rattles from the suspension of the exhaust system. At the present time there is no redress. All that the Depots can do is to lubricate the various suspensions, which lasts for a limited time. A request has been put forward to employ a similar suspension as the Wraith, that can be adapted.

Irregular running of Engine.

The modifications to the ignition controls are giving satisfactory results to the majority of owners. There has been no failure of the rocker arm.

Over-oiling of Engine.

This complaint has been considerably reduced and is not at present serious.

Front Axle Control Knocks.

These complaints are the direct result of keeping to the bronze contacts. The complaints are parallel with those previously on the Bentley. Schemes were got out for improved lubrication and steel contacts for both cars. They were adopted for the Bentley and standardised for the 25/30 h.p. but were not fitted, due to the 25/30 h.p. going out of production. There has not been any known recurrent complaint on the Bentleys with these modified contacts, therefore, it would be advisable to supply the Depots with the modified contacts for recurrent complaints.
