With reference to the use of studded tyres Mr Royce remarks:-

"Some of our own experimental cars should be run with plain tyres, studs skid badly on tarred roads. Car is much sweeter and faster and more economical on plain tyres, the Palmer pattern of grooved tread and as used by Continental Co. seem a good scheme. Cannot we get Dunlop to do likewise, they would at least be excellent for front wheels.

F.H.R."

Mr Johnson has already written to the Dunlop Co. C.J.Deas.
