We have carried out a series of high speed tests this afternoon with the fan belt choc-a-bloc:-Herewith are the results (average temperatures):-

Top water temp:-
Bottom water temp:-
Oil Temp:-
Air Temp:-
Under scuttle temp:-
Under bonn temp:-

87.3 C.
è 79.9°C.
88.6°C.
27°C.
36°C.
49°C.

This is with the cut away front undershield fitted, all shutters in bonnet open, and no undershield under the gear box.
We then took the front undershield off, with the following figures:-

Top water temp:-
Bottom water temp:-
Oil temp:-
Air temp:-
Under scuttle temp:-
Under bonnet temp:-

88°C.
80.5°C.
88.6°C.
27.5°C.
36°C.
49°C.

You will observe that there is approx. no difference whatsoever. The air temperature is 4° cooler than what we have been having, which makes all the difference for high speed work. We have not obtained any better results in the cooling with the fan belt absolutely choc-a-bloc than what we have been running throughout our mileage with the fan belt practically choc-a-bloc.
