F.R. Banks, Esq.,
Ethyl Export Corporation,
Thames House,
Millbank. S.W.1.

Dear Banks,

Herewith particulars of work we have been doing on track resistance of various makes of cars. We shall be glad if you will treat the matter as confidential, particularly with regard to other automobile manufacturers.

With regard to your query re the closing velocities which we use on our camshafts, this velocity is, approximately, .1 ft per second on the closing side and .14 on the opening side. As I expect you already know the valve makes a loud noise when the valve is closing, hence the long closing period.

Yours sincerely,

(Handwritten note: 1380 file)
