With reference to the Hyatt Roller Bearing in the gear box, we find that this is so universally used by the Americans and their gear boxes are not noisy, that we think there must be some mistake in the fact that we cannot use such a bearing. The reason why I am particularly anxious to use this type of bearing is that we fear a plain bearing would be in-sufficiently lubricated, and therefore liable to seize.
