We hand you with this note PD.131 ( 4 sheets) showing the complete design of the front end of Bentley 50, and in particular the external shape of the radiator. From a copy of our letter to Messrs.Park Ward you will see that the model is in hand. It was intended that the internals of the radiator should be those of B.III. We find that it is [struck through: not] possible to use many B.III parts unaltered, and therefore we propose whilst making the alterations, to incorporate as many as possible of the recommendations for cheapening and improving the construction, set out in various memos by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. wherever they are possible and thought desirable. The design of the internals of the radiator is very urgent. With respect to the grille, we have handed prints of the shell and the proposed slats to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. who is today asking Messrs.Marstons to make proposals for the building up and fixing of the grille to the shell. It is now possible to go ahead also with the design of the Rover type bonnet, which will be needed for this car. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
