Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/ADL.3.32 40/50 BATTERY LINK. We have had brought to our notice by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} a failure on chassis 116-GY after 9,000 miles of the electrical system due to the battery link corroding and breaking. It appears to us from examination that this has been caused by fitting the link the wrong way up. This allows any free acid to accumulate in the corrugations put in the link for flexibility etc. thus causing corrosion to occur. We consider all concerned should be notified in respect to this in order to ensure that these links are correctly fitted here and at all repair depots. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
