HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}7/M10.10.28. LIGHTENED CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL-SERRATED UNIVERSAL JOINT -No.5. Handwritten: X7300 X7340 / X1360 With reference to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/LG21028., we suggest that a thing which might be immediately tried is either a stainless steel plug in the crankshaft on which the ball bearing slides, or else cadmium plating of the same part. When the modified arrangement for "SS{S. Smith}" is tried we think the lubrication conditions are very much improved, but there are still further proposals we could make if necessary.
