SECRET. 1300 To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}.. from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FIH c. De/ID Les De/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}10/N.31.8.39. Re: Steering Wheels. Attached herewith are PD.496 and PD.497, which are designs made by M.Paulin for steering wheels and controls for the Bentley and Rolls-Royce cars respectively of the Senior Rationalised Programme. The method of wire spoke fixing is shewn different on each design but the schemes are interchangeable. M.Paulin points out that on the blueprints which we provided for the two models shew a different taper seration on each. This is in error and the Bentley we believe is correct. It is suggested that we should make models of each of these wheels and controls for fitting to a car, and Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} would like a print of each to discuss this with the makers. We would be glad if you could instruct two prints of each to be sent to M.Paulin in Paris. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
