The Vulture engine detail weight analysis, compiled from Power-Samas cards.

[struck through] GF/BDM [struck through] Lr{Mr Ellor}/Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}4/ET.21.8.40. We send herewith two summaries of the Vulture detail weight analysis. These have been compiled from the full list of weights now completed on the Power-Samas cards for the production Vulture II. Besides being collated in section orders, the parts are also subdivided into five material groups, showing a total weight for each material in each section, also a total for each material on the engine. Should any further detail information be required two complete copies have been printed and are available for reference in Belper in the Library, and in Derby in the Weight Analysis Office. The advantage of utilising the Powers-Samas cards for engine weights is that any requisite weight information is easily obtainable, as on this machine the detail weights can be mechanically sorted, by material, and by piece number order, and such items as castings and forgings can rapidly be selected. ............
