x7060 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}5/KT.14.10.32. x7230 Re. Fitting of New Exhaust Valve to Customers Cars, 5 to 1 Comp. Ratio. (Depot Sheet issued re. complaint of Valves Stretching.) We asked Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} to hold up this Depot because of the trouble of rattles we ran into after shortening the valve guide. We have now proved that for existing cars the new exhaust valves can be fitted as per Depot Sheet, but the valve guides E.82489 must be made .275" shorter in length from the cylinder face. The valves must not have excessive clearance in the valve guide as this produces valve rattle. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
