This morning I tested the brakes of B-47-AE, our black trials car, and found that after they had been washed and one had to pull up to a dead stop before one had the opportunity of running with the brakes on, they juddered about the same as the standard cars, but they were greatly superior in the time taken to become normal. The brakes are never as ineffective when wet and there was no tendency to pull on the steering.
The results of this test are not quite what one expected as the modifications were aimed to make the actual judder less pronounced, and as this car has run a considerable mileage I propose trying another car which has also run several thousand miles to see if the brake lining improves very much with running, though getting a better bedding.
